Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists (SLFUE) was established in February, 2012 with the intention of enabling closer cooperation, dialogue, research and academic enhancement among the professionals in Economics serving in the Sri Lankan Public Universities and currently possesses the membership of 32 Departments and Units that teach economics in the Sri Lankan University system.

The 10thInternational Conference of the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists (SLERC- 2021) is the 10th in a series of successful conferences organized by the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economist (SLFUE). The conference aims to bring together academics and researchers to exchange their original research results on an equitable, inclusive, green economy. The conference provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers to discuss, share their research findings, and receive feedback from a wider audience.

Message from the Chairman

Chairman/ Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists 2020

It is a great pleasure for me to invite you all to the 9th Conference of the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists (SLFUE) “Sri Lanka Economic Research Conference 2020”. We need to discuss, debate and agreed upon judicious economic policies and programmes these days more than any other day due to the two devastations that Sri Lanka experienced within a shorter period of time. Hence, we have set this year’s theme of the conference as “Restoring Economic Growth and Prosperity of Sri Lanka: Options and Strategies. There will be a keynote speech, panel discussion and around 50 selected papers on the above theme presented in the conference. By holding the conference at this significant juncture, we are expecting to help rebuilding the Sri Lankan economy after these two catastrophes. We are expecting to host this conference on 20th and 21st of August 2020 at the salubrious environment of Uva Wellassa University, Badulla with the corporation of the Faculty of Management and Department of Export Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture, Uva Wellassa University.

The peer reviewed selected papers presented at the conference will be published as a bound Proceeding Book with a dedicated ISBN number and based on the recommendations of the Editorial Committee, selected full papers will be published in the peer reviewed bi-annual Sri Lanka Journal of Economic Research (SLJER) published by Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists.

It is with a great respect that I invite you all to submit your original research papers to our well reputed research conference which will be held at beautiful surrounding of Uva Wellassa University at this momentous time and contribute to the rebuilding of Sri Lanka, particularly the Sri Lankan economy.
