The 29th meeting of the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists was held successfully at the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka on 15th March 2019. Prof. EMP Ekanayake – Vice Chancellor, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the chief guest. Among the participants, Academics representing the member Universities; University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Colombo, University of Kelaniya, University of Ruhuna, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Uwa Wellassa University of Sri Lanka and Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka were presented at the meeting. The key note speech of the forum was delivered by the eminent Prof. JA Karunarathne on ‘EMERGING STRUCTURES OF THE WORLD ECONOMY AND THE CHALLENGES FOR SRI LANKA”
SLFUE is a network of all Departments and Units teaching Economics within the Sri Lankan national university system. At this 29th meeting, the rotational chair of SLFUE for the year was taken over by Wayamba University of Sri Lanka from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (Chair-2018). Dr. RA Rathnasiri (Former Dean/FBSF,Senior Lecturer- Department of Banking & Finance, Faculty of Business Studies & Finance) was appointed as the Chair of SLFUE for the year 2019.
