A panel discussion on the topic “Empowering Sri Lankan Economy: Experiences and Way forward” was conducted with the participation of Industrial and Academic Experts just after the Inaugural Ceremony of the Conference. The panel discussion was successfully moderated by Prof. Sirimal Abeyrathne, Professor in Economics, University of Colombo. Prof. Sumanasiri Liyanage (Dean, SANASA Campus), Dr. Kulathunga Rajapaksha (Group Chairman, DSI Samson group), Mr. MSK Dharmawardhane (Director rural development – CBSL) & Dr. Udayasiri Kariyawasam (Former chairman BOC & business consultant) successfully conducted the panel discussion. The discussion was followed by a question and answer session where important questions were presented by the audience to be discussed by panel members. Considerable amount of Students representing Faculty of Business Studies and Finance who follow the course of macroeconomics also participated for the discussion and they gathered significant awareness through the discussion. The contribution of prominent scholars participated for the panel discussion provided ample opportunity to create healthy dialogue among economists and all other interested parties in development issues
