The 6th International Conference of SLFUE: Sri Lanka Economics Research Conference was held on 23rd and 24th of November 2017 at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Mihintale.The theme of this year’s conference is “Strengthening Economic Resilience for Inclusive Growth”.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 23rd of November 2017 at Faculty Theatre, Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the event was presided over by Prof. Ranjith Wijayawardana, Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. The keynote address of the conference was delivered by the Dr. Fredrick Abeyrathna, former Head of the Poverty and Governance Unit of the UNDP.
The main highlight of the event was the panel discussion on “Balanced Economic Growth in Sri Lanka: Challenges and Policy Reforms” with the contribution of prominent scholars in Sri Lanka, namely, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Prof. CM Madduma Bandara, Prof. Sumanasiri Liyanage, Dr. Fredrick Abeyrathna and Ms. Subashini Abeysinghe as the Moderator.
Technical sessions of the conference were held on 24th November 2017. A total of 72 papers were presented under the following topics.
