The 7th meeting of the Sri Lanka Forum of University Economists was held on the 27th of September, 2013 at the University of Ruhuna. Prof. P.Hewage, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, University of Ruhuna, addressed the gathering speaking on the importance of these kinds of meetings & congratulated to the organizers. Heads of Economics Departments, or their representatives, from almost all national universities attended the meeting. First session, consisted with an important discussion regarding Central bank regulatory role of non-bank financial institutes.

The main item of the second session, discussion at the meeting was regarding the organisation of the 2nd Sri Lanka Economic Research Conference (SLERC) in December 2013. The session was chaired by Dr. Wasantha Athukorala, Coordinator/SLFUE-2013.
The next meeting of the SLFUE is scheduled to be in Peradeniya, hosted by the University of peradeniya, Department of Economics & Statistics on December.
